Gosta 'Gus' E. Snickars, 85 passed away, Saturday, December 29, 2012 at his home in Algonquin. Gus was born August 10, 1927 in Karpero Korsholm, Finland to Werner and Olga (nee Almquist) Snickars. He married his wife Inga in 1949, moved to Algonquin in 1954. Gus retired from Arnold Engineering in Marengo as a Project Engineer. He enjoyed spend time with family, carpentry, and fishing whenever possible. He is survived by his son, Roger of Algonquin and grandson (John) Katie Snickars of Cary. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Inga. Arrangements were handled by Windridge Funeral Home, 104 High Road, Cary, IL 60013.The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the chapel of Windridge Memorial Park, 7014 S. Rawson Bridge Rd., Cary from 1 PM until the time of memorial service at 2 PM.
