Wally E. Giernoth was born July 23, 1934 in Chicago to Walter and Lorraine (nee Grubish) Giernoth. He passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in Ingleside. Wally was a member of St. Bede Catholic Church in Ingleside. He enjoyed spending time with family, scuba diving, bowling, camping and playing chess. Wally is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Isa (nee Pate), whom he married May 13, 1961; his children Patty (Chris) Ament of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, Jeff (Julie) Giernoth of Antioch, Illinois, Deiona Villiard of Genoa City, Wisconsin, and Sherry Nykaza of Harvard, Illinois; granddaughter and caregiver Jennifer (Todd) Fry of Ingleside, as well as 11 other grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sister Shirley and brother Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth and brothers Lee, Woody, and Paul. Visitation will be on Friday from 12:00 P.M., until the time of prayers at 1:00 P.M., in the chapel of Windridge Memorial Park, 7014 S. Rawson Bridge Rd., (at Crystal lake Road) Burial will follow. Arrangements were handled by Windridge Funeral Home, 104 High Road, Cary, IL 60013.
