Abigail Ortiz, age 71, of Minooka passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023, at Ascension Saint Joseph Medical Center, Joliet with her loving family at her side. Survived by her mother Adela Cardenas, her husband of 52 years, Jesus Ortiz, her children Maria J. Ortiz, Tavin (Maria Serrano) Ortiz, Francisco J. (Erika) Ortiz and Jesse (Katie Salazar) Ortiz, her grandchildren Jose Mendoza, Selena Mendoza, Melissa Martinez, Max Martinez, Tavin Ortiz Jr., Vanessa Ortiz, Christopher Lamas, Abbygail Ortiz, Gabriella Ortiz, Gio Ortiz, Elias Ortiz, Jayleen Ortiz and Avaya Munoz, great grandchildren Luna Mendoza, one on the way, Nicholas Lamas and Elena Lamas and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her father Carmen Guzman and her siblings Alfonso Guzman, Manuel Guzman, Cecelia Guzman, and Socorro Guzman. Abigail was born in Mexico. She worked for CTI Industries and later was a daycare provider for many years. Abigail loved to cook for everyone! If you came to her house, you were going to eat. Abigail revolved her life around her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Abigail will be remembered for her loving, kind, and generous ways and her outgoing spirit. She will be loved by all who knew and loved her. Visitation for Abigail will take place on Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 2-6:00 P.M. at Farkas Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 beginning with prayers at 9:15 A.M. at the funeral home followed by a procession to St. Mary Catholic Church, 303 W. St. Marys St., Minooka for 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial. Cremation to follow. Inurnment Woodlawn Memorial Park I, Joliet, IL at a later date.
