Altagracia Gonzalez, age 79, passed away at home with her family by on Monday, July 27, 2026.

Survived by her children, Angelo (Lisa) Rivera, Yamilka Santiago, Jimmy (Marta) Santiago, and Shanil Santiago, 11 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren; siblings, Brijida, Susa, Lydia, Elizabeth, Wilfredo, and Noris. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by her parents, Gasper Gonzales and Sebastian Rivera and her 15 siblings.

My beautiful Mother, how we are going to miss having with you. Mom was that person who walked in a room, she lit it up with her smile. She was a tough mom who raised 4 children. Mom was hard working and always made sure we were taken care of no matter to what extent. Mom loved scratching lottery tickets and boy was she lucky. She was a generous giver. If you lacked anything she made sure to give it to you. And let's not forget her UFC matches and wrestling shows. She would stay up passed her bedtime. One of the things that Mom enjoyed going to was church on Sundays. CVM Ministries where she loves to worship the Lord and sang the songs. She loves God and always prayed for us.

Funeral services for Altagracia will be held at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson St. Joliet, IL 60431 on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services. As it was Altagracia's request, cremation rites will be accorded following services.
