Beatriz Avila Ortiz, age 70, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

Survived by her husband, Manuel Castro, children, Guadlupe Castro, and Alejandro Castro; granddaughter, Iliana Castro; great grandson, Ya'Vier Manuel Castro; siblings, Rosaura Avila, Maria Elena Avila, Ismael Avila, Eugenia Avila, and Araceli Avila.

Preceded in death by her parents, Dionioso Avila and Tomasa Ortiz; siblings, Dagoberto Avila, Jose Luis Avila, and Raul Avila.

Visitation for Beatriz will be held at the Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 West Jefferson St. on Tuesday September 29, 2026, beginning at 8:00am until 11:00am. Following the visitation there will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm located at Our Lady of mount Carmel Catholic Church, 205 E. Jackson Street, Joliet, IL. A funeral procession to Resurrection Catholic Cemetery located in Justice will follow the mass.
