Calvin N. Walker Jr., age 81, passed away peacefully with his family gathered by his side at home on Saturday, December 31, 2022.

Cal was born on January 28, 1941, in Van Buren, Arkansas. He was a true Patriot. Although, he only served in the United States Navy from February 1959 thru February 1963, he had a lifelong love for the Navy. He served his large family well with his skills to fix anything mechanical. As a great provider, he dedicated 35 years as an electrical engineer at the Merchandise Mart Building in Chicago. His love of family created strong loving bonds and precious memories for all who knew him. He is very well loved and will be sorely missed.

Survived by his children, Lari Healy- Castle, LaDonna Healy- Swanson, Susan (Scott) DeHaan, Arlene (Brian) Fowler, Dena (Don) Walden and Steve (Patricia) Walker; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by his parents, Calvin (Goldie, nee Beverage) Walker Sr.; siblings, Vivian (David) King, Jay (Cheryl) Walker and Ruth (Mike) Cole.

Funeral services for Calvin will be held at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL 60431, Monday, January 9, 2023, at 12:00 pm. Inurnment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of services.
