Carol F. Bittermann (nee Briske) Born June 24, 1938 At Rest: April 28, 2016 Carol passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at her home with her family by her side. Survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years Jack Bittermann; and her two sons John Bittermann of Joliet and Mark (Dawn) Bittermann of Bloomington, IL.; two brothers Joseph 'Sonny' (Becky) Briske, James 'Jimmy' (Sharon) Briske both residing in Texas and her sister Debbie Briske of Manhattan. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Kathleen Benn for her guidance, support and special care during this difficult time. Preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Helen (nee Elberts) Briske. Lifelong resident of Joliet, Illinois. Carol bowled for over 27 years at Town and Country Lanes in Joliet, she enjoyed golf and was an avid card player. Her and Jack spent their retirement winters at The Villages in Florida. The animals in the backyard will sorely miss the evening meals that Carol provided for them. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol''s name to the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home would be appreciated. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A Chapel Service will also be held on Monday at the Funeral Home beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment services will be private.
