Charles F. Piersing Jr. Age 89, passed away Saturday September 24, 2016 at Ingalls Hospice in Harvey, Illinois. Charles is survived by his five children Cheryl Ann ( Douglas Huffman, Cindy (Chuck) Holup, Val (Kevin) Ingoldsby, Charles F. (Sue) Chick, Gayle Wolf; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 4 great - great grandchildren; sisters Mary Louise Weatherman, Lois Manley, Ruth Kinsey, and Brothers John, Howard and Robert Piersing. Preceded in death by his parents Charles Sr. and Frieda Piersing, two sisters Trudy Piersing and Helen Sullivan. Charles was born in Steger, Illinois. He was a longtime Joliet resident. Charles worked in Trucking and owned an upholstery shop and The Shell gas station that was at Six Corners in Joliet. He was also a tax preparer and raced and built midget race cars at the Joliet speedway. He was truly an amazing man. Funeral Service will be held at the Woodlawn Funeral Home 3201 W Jefferson Street , Joliet, IL, Tuesday September 27, 2016 at 12:30 pm. Family will receive frends at the the Funeral home on Tuesday from 10:30am until the time of service. Internment Woodlawn Memorial Park I. In Lieu of flowers memorials to the ASPCA would be appreciated.
