In the Army, he served in the Infantry then in Germany in Aviation as a helicopter mechanic. It was in the Army that he got his nickname "Fast Eddie" because he was so good on the pool table. He retired from Thomas Steel, then he worked as a self-employed electrician until he was 80.
He loved camping and fishing with his family. In his younger years, his hobbies were bowling, pool, trap shooting, fishing, camping, and golfing. But most of all, he loved time spent with his family, who loved him dearly. He was a true friend to everyone and if you needed help, he was there.
Many thanks to his doctors and nurses at the VA and Lisa's Hospice team, as well as Jodi, Amber and the many family and friends who helped with his care. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the family.
