Eligio Alicea (Wilo), age 90, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021. Survived by his wife of 67 years, Magdalena Alicea; children, Julie (Chuck) Barnes, Milagros- Tatita (Frank) Borrero, Wilfredo Alicea and Mari (Bengie) Lozada; grandchildren, Bengito (Vanessa), Elliott (Vanessa), Daniel (Dixie), Vanessa, Christina, Melissa (Jamen), Salena (Bruce), Wilfredo (Lauren), Magdalena-Pita, Antonio, and Chaz; 22 great-grandchildren and three sisters. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his parents, Antonio (Angela) Alicea; three brothers and two sisters. Eligio better known as Wilo or Wing was born in Yauco, Puerto Rico. He moved to Chicago as a young man where he met his wife Magdalena of 67 years. He enjoy carpentry and working on cars, but Eligio's favorite times were always spent with his family. He worked for General Electric for 43 years as a Mechanic. He also was a businessman who owned a Travel Agency with his wife for 25 years. His infectious smile would light up any room he entered and a friend to everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Visitation for Eligio will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, IL. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brook Forest Ave., Shorewood, IL 60404, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
