Elsie B. McGee (nee Tockstein) passed away peacefully with her family at her side on July 30, 2018 at the Rosewood Care Center, Joliet, IL. She was born on November 5, 1925, in Kinmundy IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Anna (Kodl) Tockstein; her loving husband, Jamie McGee; and two brothers, Adolph and Charles Tockstein. She is survived by a sister, Ann (Tockstein) Williams; a brother, Bill Tockstein; three children, Kenneth (Sheila) McGee, Barbara (Greg) Prater, and Beverly (Steve) Saylor; nine grandchildren, Kevin McGee, Kerry (McGee) Kennedy, Jamie Prater, Ryan Prater, Zachary Prater, Meghan (Saylor) Sullivan, Scott Saylor and Kate Saylor; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Elsie taught school in the Kinmundy area before moving to Romeoville and teaching second grade at R.C. Hill until her retirement. She was a long-time member of Crystal Lawns Church of the Nazarene, who enjoyed scrap-booking, garage sales and gardening. A Celebration of Life service will be at Crystal Lawns Church of the Nazarene 2424 Caton Farm Road, Joliet, IL. on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 11 AM. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations to Crystal Lawns Church of the Nazarene would be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Woodlawn Funeral Home.
