Frances C. "Fran" Stewart, age 96, passed away on Valentine's Day and Ash Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Fran is survived by her only son, David; grandchildren Hayes, Charlie, and Mariana; and nieces Jane Imparl (Al) and Karen Bunting (Jack).

Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stewart; her parents, John and Mary Juricic nee Gasparich; brothers John "Barney" Juricic (Mary); Mike Juricic (Marge); and Frank Juricic; sisters-in-law Jeannette Rowe (Arthur); Margaret Conroy (Robert); and Esther Muncy (Fred); and brothers-in-law Alexander (Mary); and William Stewart (Margaret).

Fran was a child of the Great Depression, born in Joliet to immigrant parents from Croatia. A lifelong resident of Joliet, she attended St. Mary Nativity Grade School. She met her husband, Bob, when he knocked down a window display, she had built. Fran worked for many years in the main office at Joliet Catholic High School and then Joliet Catholic Academy.

Visitation for Fran will be held at the Joliet Catholic Academy Chapel, 1200 N. Larkin Ave, Joliet on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 10:00 am. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am. Fran will be laid to rest with her parents and brothers at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Fran's memory to Joliet Catholic Academyl would be greatly appreciated.
