Gerald V. Malmfeldt, age 73, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, June 10, 2022. Survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Jody Malmfeldt; children, Jerry "Cheech" (Dawn) Malmfeldt Jr., Jodi Kirk, Rachel (fiancé Keith Van Tricht) Malmfeldt and Ryan (Susan Macaleese) Thompson; grandchildren, Jerrica Malmfeldt, Dane Malmfeldt and Zachary Thompson; brother, John Malmfeldt and our beloved dog, Callie. Numerous family and friends also survive. Preceded in death by his parents; Menard (Mary) Malmfeldt and his brother, Pudge Malmfeldt. Jerry retired from Caterpillar after more than 15 years of service. He was also a member of the UAW Union Local 145. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and best friend to our little dog Callie. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears, Blackhawks, and White sox with all his friends. He was always the life of the party. Jerry loved his Harley Davidson, gaming on his computer, and hanging in the garage with his friends. He loved going to Vegas and playing video poker with our good friends. He is my life; he is my world. Love and miss you Babe. Memorial service for Jerry will be Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of service.
