Gloria passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald "Jerry" Johnson; parents, John and Esther (Homerding) Michalek; brother, Jack Michalek; and her sister, Shirley Stiglic.

She leaves behind her son, Dean Johnson; daughters, Debra (Bryon) Gonzales and Kathy Breen; granddaughters, Shanna Gonzales, Erin Johnson, Marissa Gonzales, and Alexis Johnson; and great-granddaughters, Ann Pollock and Emma Novak.

Gloria was married to Jerry for 70 years and he was the love of her life. They did many things together such as snowmobiling, fishing, owners of a stock car that raced at Santa Fe Speedway in the 1970 -80's. Gloria was given the award for Fan of the Year in 1986 at Santa Fe. She even drove a car in a Powder Puff race once and had the time of her life.

Gloria will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her.

Visitation for Gloria and Jerry will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Christ the Servant Catholic Church, 8700 Havens Drive, Woodridge, IL 60517 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow, Gloria and Jerry will be laid to rest in a companion urn at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 11875 Archer Ave., Lemont, IL.
