James J. Gleason, age 55, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

Survived by his mother, Anna Gleason; siblings, Ann Gleason, Michael (Gabriela) Gleason, Joseph Gleason, Christine Gleason, and Sean Gleason; nieces and nephews, Victor Medina, Jakob Gleason, Michelle Villagran, Jane Villagran, Trinity Gleason, Thalia Gleason, Josh Gleason, Olivia Gleason, Aiden Gleason, Annalysse Gleason, and Benjamin Gleason; aunts and uncle, Alice (Paul) Pullos, and Margaret Sullivan. Numerous cousins and dear friends also survive.

Preceded in death by his father, James L. Gleason and numerous aunts and uncles.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James J. Gleason. Beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and godfather.

Jimmy will best be remembered for the love he had for his family and especially his nieces and nephews. He was a Die-Hard Bears and Cubs fan that rarely missed a game. You can see him wearing his orange and blue religiously. Anyone that knew him will also remember his gentle giant demeanor and remember him with love. Whether he was kicking butt in bags or winning all the chips in an all-night poker game, making sure to watch all Marvel movies and sci-fi movies, or doing anything he can for his family.

Jimmy stayed in the family business of plumbing before retiring from his Home Depot position of over 5 years.

Funeral service for James will be held at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson St. Joliet, IL 60431 on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 7:00 pm. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until time of service. As it was James's wishes request cremation rites will be accorded following services.
