Obituary

James L. Jerbi III, passed away peacefully at his home in Shorewood on Tuesday November 13, 2018. He was surrounded by family and listening to his favorite music, the Golden Oldies. Survived by his loving wife, Gail; and the greatest accomplishments of his life, his triplets Tara Jerbi, Marc (Rebecca) Jerbi and Brooke (Bob) Berdelle. His precious grandchildren who loved their Papa very much, Evan, Emerson, Connor and Amelia. His sister, Jeri Bark, sister in law Elaine (Ferrell) Stowe and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved their Uncle Jim. Preceded in death by his parents Jim (Janet) Jerbi, his brother Jack and his father in law Darrell Deweese. Jim was so proud that his children graduated from his alma mater, Augustana College in Rock Island. Jim owned and operated Joliet Floral for over 30 years with his wife by his side. He could be found most days playing oldies as he drove through Joliet with his windows down, delivering flowers. He loved black and white TV shows and always had a random fact about the actors starring in them. Jim was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church, serving on boards for many years. His free time was spent with his family and friends. The family would like to thank the caring team of Loyola Oncology and Joliet Area Community Hospice for their support during this difficult time. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 40 Houbolt Road Joliet, Il 60431 on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately with his family at a later date.
