Obituary

James "Jimmy" Thomas Wrenn joined his parents Jack (Jeanne) Wrenn with God on December 15, 2018 at the age of 54. He passed suddenly after a quiet afternoon with his wife when his heart stopped beating. The way in which he left this world is ironic because his heart is the most memorable thing about him. Jimmy was blessed to be married to the love of his life Sandy Wrenn (nee Bos) for 29 years. He rose true to his vows caring for her in sickness and health. He was her strength in her battle with cancer and will continue to watch over and cheer her on from above. He is also survived by his children who he loved deeply and unconditionally: Jeanne Wrenn, Carrie Lynn (Justin) Lustro and James Wrenn, as well as two grandchildren: Lily Whiting and Abel James Lustro. He was immensely proud to see his son serve in the Marines given his great respect for America and the Constitution. To watch his daughters become loving mothers and to see his family and blessings grow brought him great happiness and closer to God. Despite his tough and tattooed exterior, he will be remembered warmly as the tender hearted boy he was and man he grew into by his siblings: John Wrenn, Patrick (Donna) Burns, Jill (Pat) Quigley, Jackie (Ray) Hall and Mike (Theresa) Burns as well as many nieces and nephews. Jimmy had many close and loyal friends who were more like family including Bob (Pat) Skinner, Billy (Michelle) DuLong and Bowie (Kevin) Burke. If you were lucky enough to know Jimmy, he could always be counted on for things big and small - to stand by your side during a difficult time no questions asked or to tell you an inappropriate joke to bring a laugh. He was a friend to all and stranger to no one. In addition to the people that filled his life, he loved his fur babies and they were truly this "man's best friends". Jimmy had a deep and unmistakable laugh. He found great joy in simple pleasures: taking trips across the country with his girl on his Harley, sharing a meal from White Castle with his dogs and taking a walk with his adored grandson to get an ice cream. He lit up a room like no other and enjoyed taking in nature. Per Jim's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of his life will held at the Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson St. Joliet, IL 60431 on Thursday December 2018 from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Inurnment will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL at a later date. For more information, please call 815-725-0100 or visit www.farkasfuneralhome.com
