Jess Ruiz, age 72, passed away at home with his family by his side on Sunday, July 11, 2021. Survived by his wife of 34 years, Magdalena Ruiz; his children, Charlotte (Joe) Malkowski, Jess (Paula) Naputano, Lucia Ruiz, Hanna Ruiz, Emily Ruiz and Faith Ruiz; grandchildren, Cheryl Malkowski, Kailey Malkowski, Joseph Malkowski, Jess Malkowski, Amira Johnson and Abigail Ruiz; siblings, Louie (Kathy) Ruiz, Toni Brown and Mike Ruiz. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his parents, Jess (Charlotte) Ruiz; his siblings, Karen Engel and Carlos Ruiz. Jess was born in Chicago, making him a big huge Chicago Blackhawks and Cubs fan. He loved being around his family, he never thought about himself always putting his family and others first. Jess was the jokester of the family with all the dad jokes. Jess never knew anyone for their true name but by the nicknames that he had made up for them, they never ended. Jess had a very sweet tooth from cake, cupcakes, cookies and cheesecake with Caramel Ice Coffee from Dunkin' to wash it all down. He could live his whole life off of sweets and all would be good. Jess loved Jesus and was a devoted follower, always praying that all his children would follow in his footsteps towards Jesus. Dad we love you and will miss you dearly. Funeral services for Jess will be held at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL 60431 on Friday, July 16, 2021, at 10:00 am. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
