Joan A. Olson (nee Button), age 84, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Thursday, August 5, 2021, from complications of bone cancer. Survived by her daughters, Deborah Olson-Hurst and Kathleen (Steve Michels 2019) Olson; grandchildren, Nicole Hurst, Timothy Hurst, Emily (Adrian) Grieves; great-grandson Owen Hurst. Also survived by nieces and a nephew. Known to multiple fond friends as G.G. Joan or Grandma Joan. Preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Olson (1986); parents Ralph (Alta) Button; siblings Jewel (Robert) Fosdick and Carole (Robert) Maple. Joan enjoyed camping and swimming at CECO. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all. Visitation for Joan will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, IL. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
