Jyme F. Burke, age 78, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026.

Survived by her daughter, Julie (Larry) Zouganelis; grandson, Tyce Carlson; sisters, Kathy Kooy, and Elizabeth Stadt; her cat, Midnight. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by her husband, John F. Burke; parents, James and Julia Davis; sister, Carol (Joe) Ruffolo, and her brother-in-law, Paul Kooy.

Jyme was born in Joliet and raised in Peotone. She graduated from Peotone High School, class of 1965. Jyme married the love of her life, John Burke on July 3, 1965. She had a lifelong career at St. Joe's Hospital in Joliet. She was a lover of all animals, especially her dog, Cookie. Jyme loved to spend time in her yard mostly planting her flowers. She was an avid fisherman alongside her husband John. Though Jyme is no longer with us, the love she shared and the memories she created will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She may have departed from this world, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of service. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
