Linda M. Paquette (nee Held), age 71, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by her son Justin (Anne) Paquette and daughter Mandy (Joe) Dwyer; her mother, Marline Held; two brothers, Kevin (Phyllis) Held and Dennis Held. Precious grandmother of Connor Paquette, Claire Paquette, Sydney Dwyer and Colton Dwyer. Preceded in death by her husband Douglas E. Paquette and her father Herman Held. Born on May 28, 1947, Lin was a lifelong singer and musician from college ensembles, to being a volunteer music mom at the district 86 schools, to singing in multiple choirs in her retirement. She was a lifelong educator, with more than 30 years teaching special education students. In addition, Lin took part in many community groups, making lifelong friends through bowling, books, volunteering and many more. Lin was an active member of St. john Lutheran Church for more than 35 years. She will be greatly missed. Memorial Service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, 2650 Plainfield Road Joliet, IL 60435, Friday, October 5, 2018 at 11:00AM. Inurnment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation with family will be from 9AM until time of service. Memorials directed towards St. John Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
