Manual S. Vargas, age 92, passed away with his family by his side on Friday, September 27, 2019. Survived by his wife of 70 years, Clementina Vargas (nee Ochoa); ten children, Luis (Rosalba) Vargas, Saul (Carmen) Vargas, Gustavo (Guadalupe) Vargas, Lilia (Efren) Martinez, Antonia (Francisco) Mendez, Armando (Sally) Vargas, Hugo (Edna) Vargas, Ana (Omar) Sanchez, Jaime (Sheila) Vargas and Rosa (Miguel) Luna; 34 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his parents, Apolinar (Antonia) Vargas, and all twelve of his siblings. Manuel was born on March 10, 1927 in Mexico. He was very devoted to his family and always wanted them over to spend time with each other. His favorite saying was "Better to eat in a group than eat alone". He always made sure you left his home with a full stomach. His favorite thing to do was to play cards, especially with his family, and always seemed to find a way to win. He loved for his family and friends to stop over and stay to all hours of the night playing cards. His favorite card games were Brisca and Conquian. Manual loved Mariachi and most of all his wife of 70 years, Clementina. Visitation for Manuel will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019, from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, IL. Funeral services Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 404 N. Hickory Street, Joliet, IL, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
