With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, daughter, and grandmother, Marcela Salas, who passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026. She was taken from us far too soon, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and will forever cherish her memory.

Marcela was known for her infectious laugh, her kind heart, and the unconditional love she gave to those around her. Above all else, she always put her children first and dedicated her life to caring for her family. Her warmth, strength, and beautiful spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Oscar Salas; her five children, Gisela, Oscar, Daniel, Stephanie, and Francisco; and her three beloved granddaughters, Valerie, Isabella, and Camila, who brought immense joy to her life.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the love, laughter, and memories Marcela gave us. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Visitation for Marcela will be held at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 West Jefferson Street, Joliet on Thursday May 28, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. She will later be laid to rest in La Joya, Mexico, where her memory will continue to live on through all who loved her.
