Margaret M. Keca, age 99, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.

Survived by her sons, Daniel (Barbara) Keca Jr., and Richard (Mary Jo) Keca; son-in-law, Mark (Gerry) Worden; grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Worden, Joel (Rachel) Worden, Jodie Luke, Kristofer (Ashley) Keca, Richard Keca, Joseph Keca, and Stephanie Keca; nine great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Keca Sr., daughter, Kathleen Worden; granddaughter, Kerry Ann Keca; parents, Frank (Pauline) Gabrys; brothers, Frank (Frances) Gabrys, Richard (Tess) Gabrys, and Lenny Gabrys; sister, Cecilia (Robert) Seeley.

Margaret was a Graduate of St. Francis Academy and St. Joseph School of Nursing (Broadway Street) in Joliet, IL. She was a member of St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church. Dan and Margaret moved to Chatsworth, IL where Margaret was the nurse for the local doctor. In 1967 the family returned to Joliet where Margaret worked at St. Joseph Hospital in the Nursery until her retirement in 1979. Dan and Margaret could be found dancing the Polka with their favorite bands. Margaret loved knitting baby blankets for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret was an avid reader especially the author Danielle Steel. She loved her pets Peppy the Parakeet and Tammy the Schnauzer and attending to her African Violets. Margaret loved the Chicago Cubs and celebrated the 2016 win.

Per Margaret's wishes she was cremated with the Eco-Friendly Flameless Cremation.

Funeral services for Margaret will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 23060 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL 60431 Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am until time of services. Inurnment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
