Marion “Cookie” E. Breen, age 80, passed away at home on October 30, 2026.

Survived by her children, Carolyn (Ken) Floyd of Elwood, John A. Breen of Marseilles, Diane (Ray) Rodriguez of Aurora, Alice (Gene) Ziller of Georgia, Patrick (Christine) Breen of Wilmington, and Daniel Breen of Rockdale; twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; siblings, Herb Hottenstein, Kenneth (Elaine) Hottenstein, and Sonya Marks. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive

Preceded in death by her husband, John A. Breen; parents, Alfred and Margaret Hottenstein and numerous siblings.

Cookie loved to crochet and knit. She entered many fairs with her blankets. Cookie was an avid reader and also enjoyed the outdoors. Though Cookie is no longer with us, the love she shared and the memories she created will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She may have departed from this world, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A memorial service for Marion will be held at Farkas Funeral home, 3201 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL on Friday November 6, 2026, at 11:00am. Memorial visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of services. As it was Marion’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
