Mary Theresa Lavazza

(nee Oldani)

Age 92 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2024 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born in Joliet on February 18, 1932, she was a life-time resident.

Preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, George A. Lavazza Sr. (2007); her parents, Fred and Kathryn (nee Binzen) Oldani; her special friends Mike and Bernice Guglielmucci.

Survived by her two daughters, Kathryn Lucenti and Laura (Jarek) Lucek; her son, George A. Lavazza Jr.; her seven grandchildren, Jen Lavazza, Trish (Justin) Maurer, Gina Peterson, Chrissy (Jerry) Schroyer, Christopher Lavazza, Sebastian Lucek and Adam Lucek;

her three great-grandchildren, Alayna Peterson, Isabella and Abigail Maurer. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Mary Theresa will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was a life-time member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Women of the Moose Chapter 84 and an honorary member of the Laborers Union # 75 Retiree's Club.

Visitation for Mary Theresa Lavazza will be held at the Farkas Funeral Home (Richard J. Tapella, Funeral Director), 3201 West Jefferson Street on Friday, October 11, 2024 beginning at 8:30 am until 9:30 am. Following the visitation there will be a funeral procession to Queen of Apostles Catholic Church (formerly, St. Paul the Apostle Church) 18 Woodlawn Ave. Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Romeoville.
