Mary attended St. Paul the Apostle and St. Francis Academy, both located in Joliet, IL. She briefly attended Gallup High School in New Mexico and fell in love with its beautiful mountains and landscapes. She graduated from Joliet Junior College with her associates of arts with honors, with her proud children in attendance.
Her life was one of service and nurturing. Mary spent many years as a basketball coach and room mom for her children at St. Joe's Joliet and as a reading aid at her granddaughter's school. She was a teacher's aide in special education at Rockdale Public School, a beloved supervisor at Frank's Nursery and Crafts and Babies R Us, where she made many long term friendships. She was also a trusted and reliable foster mom for so many puppies and dogs with Paws Up 4 Rescue. She gave wonderful lives to so many personal pets in addition to her many fosters. She loved gardening and nature. Her home and yard were always full of gorgeous plants, flowers, vegetables, and trees she that planted herself.
Mary loved music, fishing, cook outs, her family, her friends, her yard, and her pets. She could sew, she studied horticulture, jewelry making and photography, and loved arranging her seasonal flower planters for her deck. She had an eclectic and creative sense of style and impeccable taste she used for her home and selecting gifts for her loved ones. She was a friend to many and was very committed to each of them as well as their families. Mary supported everyone she could in any way that she could. She will be greatly missed by all.
