Rachel Louisa Fahrner (nee Van Dyke) Left our lives March 3, 2015 with her family by her side. Born August 27, 1920 in Gary, West Virginia to William Luther and Rachel Tamsy Van Dyke, Sr. Rachel graduated from Medical College in Virginia and gained employment as the 'Head Nurse of OB/GYN Unit' at that hospital. Married Dr. George Vincent Fahrner and worked alongside her husband to open his private medical practice here in Joliet. Rachel and George had three daughters: Faith (Raymond) Turvey, Phyllis (Rick) Raasch and Louisa L. Jurcin. Rachel leaves numerous survivors to cherish her memory. Grandchildren include Raymond (Cheryl), Scot (Michelle), Christian, Amy (Jon) Walter, and Adam Turvey, Ladine (Bob) Brick, Heidi (Jason) Moore, Nicole (Douglas) Dunbar-Anderson, Noah (Valery) Jurcin; nephew William Van Dyke III and family friend Richard Zenke. There are also 22 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Dr. George Vincent Fahrner; one sister Mary Payne and one brother William Van Dyke Jr. Private Memorial Service to celebrate R.
