Robert (Bob) A. Riley of Crest Hill passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2025 at age 66 years.

Survived by his spouse of 37 years Shelia (Ward), daughter Renee Bill, sister Cheri (Kenneth) LeRoy, half-siblings: Robin, Debbie, Michael Riley and Terri Mutz, nieces Danielle (Roelf Wolz) Knowles, Nicole LeRoy, Amanda (Adam) Wagner, Angelica Mutz, and nephews Kenny LeRoy and Kevin Riley, sisters-in-law Paula (Robert) Hannan, Lisa Ward and countless other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Preceded in death by his parents Mary (Ventura) Riley, Robert J. Riley, son John Michael Bill and half-brother Timothy Riley.

Bob lived in California for several years and studied jazz guitar at The Guitar Institute of Technology in Los Angeles.

Bob was a lifelong professional musician, playing lead guitar and singing in the bands: Chime, Cyrus, Cross Town Express, Mad Money and the Bob Riley One Man Band.

Bob studied many of the world's religions and loved to share his knowledge on the subject.

Everyone who knew Bob agrees he was a kind, loving, and compassionate person.

Early in his career, he worked in the special education department at Joliet Central High School. Bob later retired after 23 years in the IT department at Presence Health.

Funeral services for Bob will be held on Saturday, February 1st from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson St. Joliet, IL (Richard Tapella, Funeral Director) followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, donations to help pay for funeral services can be sent to the funeral home and will be forwarded to Bob's daughter.
