He started as a guard and then worked in industries as a foreman in several shops within the walls retiring in 1989 after 31 years of service. Outside of work he enjoyed working in the garden, tending the flower beds, and keeping his lawn well cared for. Bob was active in the local Cub and Boy Scout programs moving on to the district level of service once his boys completed their Eagle Scout rank. He enjoyed attending and participating in antique tractor and steam engine shows. He was an active member and former president of the Will County Threshermen's Association. Bob's faith was strong, he was a long-time member of Mission Bible Church formally Minooka Bible Church. As a child growing up on a farm he played with toy tractors, taking good care of them then growing his collection by attending numerous toy shows looking for "that one unique toy" he didn't have. He enjoyed reading and a good nap. In the fall you could find him getting ready for deer season, hunting on the family farm.
We would ask that you wear colors not black……. if you saw his tie collection (125+) you'd understand.
