Robert J. Link passed away on December 9, 2022, at his home in Marengo, Illinois, after a battle with MDS. He was born the third oldest of ten to loving parents, Sara A. (McMillin) and Leonard T. Link Jr., in Joliet, Illinois on October 15, 1958.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Thomas, his brother-in-law, Robert Gura and his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Link. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his siblings Charles, Catherine, Leonard III (Sandra), Paul (Kathy Reyes), Nancy, Janice Siegel, John (Lisa) and Elaine Pool (Charles).

Robert was a mentor, fan, and most of all loving uncle, devoted to his nieces and nephews; Starrlene, Heather, Shane, Melissa, Joshua, Kylie, Sara, Logan, Jericho, Matthew, Jack, Thomas, Michael, Jerry Noah, and Abigail.

Robert was an avid sports fan who enjoyed golfing with friends, and following the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and other teams. Robert also enjoyed writing and publishing his work.

Robert attended St. Joseph's Catholic Grade School, finishing at Troy Junior High School. He continued schooling at Joliet West High School, graduating with many academic accolades. He obtained his bachelor's degree with Honors from Northern Illinois University in Computer Science. Robert completed his Master's in Business Administration from the University of Chicago. He had an illustrious career in IT, most recently as the Director of Information Technology for Glanbia Foods.

Robert will be missed for his quick wit, humorous one-liners, loving dedication and support to family, friends, and co-workers. He was the best of us, and if you knew him you were blessed and thankful.

A Celebration of life for Robert will be held at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL 60431, Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Family and friends will share stories at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, Bob would like people to donate lifesaving blood.
