Robert R. Lovati

"Bob" Age 93 years, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Friday, April 24, 2026.

Bob was born in Joliet on August 31, 1932, the son of the late Frank and Florence (nee Hendry) Lovati.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Upon his return from his military service, he was employed by Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 40 years before retiring.

He was a lifetime member of Stone City Post VFW # 2199. For 37 years he was the announcer for the Joliet Raiders Football Organization and he also was a referee and umpire in the area.

Besides he parents, Frank and Florence, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Louise (nee Parini) Lovati (2016).

Survived by his daughters, Debra (Rob) Lindstrand and Deanne Thorsen; his sons, Robert (Kim) Lovati and Roger Lovati; his grandchildren, Kagan Lovati, Christopher (Joanne) Lovati, John Thorsen and Ashley Lindstrand; his great-grandsons, Landen Lovati and Regan Lovati; his brother-in-law and sisters-in law, Chuck (Barb) Parini and Nancy Parini.

Visitation will be held from the Farkas Funeral Home, with Richard J. Tapella, Funeral Director, 3201 West Jefferson Street, Joliet on Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 8:30am until 10:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rockdale at 11:00 am.

Interment with full military honors will be held after the mass at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
