Ronald C. Deverick Sr., age 71, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. Survived by his wife of 16 years, Kaylene Deverick; his sons, Ronald Deverick Jr. and Eric (Leah) Deverick; his step-daughter, Samantha (Peter) Duveneck; his grandchildren, Samantha (Kyle) Andres, Nicholas (Shelbi) Deverick, Haley Deverick, Cora Deverick and Ella Deverick; his step-granddaughter, Tessa Duveneck; his siblings, Dan (Diana) Deverick, Bob (Karen) Deverick and Ginny Deverick; his brother-in-law's, Kirk Jensen and Kip Jensen. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles (Lorraine) Deverick. Ron was born on October 12, 1948 in Chicago, IL. He attended Luther High School South in Chicago, class of 1967. While in high school Ron decided to enroll in the United States Marine Corps. He served two tours in Vietnam as a Forward Artillery Battery man in the 3rd marine division. He devoted countless hours to the 3rd Marine Division Association and the USO at O'Hare Airport. As Ron always said, Once a Marine, Always a Marine Oohrah! Funeral services for Ronald will be held at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL 60431 Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Interment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
