Ronald A. Richter, age 63, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023. three days before his 64th birthday. After being diagnosed with a rare kidney disease which required dialysis three times a week for the last 4 1/2 years, his body just couldn't take it any longer.

Survived by his brother, Gary Richter; nephew, Bradley Richter; niece, Ashley (Justin) Richter-Hurst; great nieces and nephews, Robin, Eve, Logan, Derek, Michael, Evelyn, Veronica, Abigail, and Emily Rose. Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

Preceded in death by his mother, Carole (Al) Felix, and his father, Richard Richter.

Born and raised in Plainfield, Ron worked with his brother Gary at Richter Supply. He and his brother also started a doughnut and deli business. Ron also worked in the window industry with his best friend, Jeff Heck. Ron was a member with the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department for over five years. If anyone required a helping hand with any issue, Ron was ready, willing and able to assist without looking for anything in return. Ron loved the outdoors and being part of nature, especially near the water, whether it was camping, boating, diving, fishing or simply drowning the worms!

He will truly be missed by those that knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be at the Joliet Moose Lodge, 25 Springfield Ave. Joliet, IL 60435, on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 2:00pm- 5:00pm. Per Ron's wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
