Sandy was born in Joliet, Illinois on April 23, 1946. She grew up on the family farm in Plainfield, Il, the daughter of the late John and Alice Drauden. She was a graduate of St. Francis Academy in Joliet, Il. She soon met the love of her life Bob and married in May of 1968. While raising her family, Sandy worked as a media center aide at Grand Prairie School for several years.

Together Sandy and Bob enjoyed the outdoors, particularly fishing, boating and family vacations to Door County WI. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. Although her health was failing the last few years, she always kept her sense of humor, and the smallest things in life meant the most to her.

Special thanks to her dear friends that made her life a little easier at Newsome Home Health and Willow Falls.

Memorial services for Sandy will be held at Hope United Methodist Church, 2506 Caton Farm Road Joliet, IL 60435 on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until time of services. Cremation rites have been accorded.
