Shirley A. Peters, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Survived by her children, David Peters, Kathy (Dan) Babcock and Regina Peters; her grandchildren, Heather (Matthew) Steffens, Bradley (Stacey) Homberg and Josh (Katie) Peters; her great-grandchildren, Samantha, Tyler, Emily, Kate, Jack, and Kyle; her great-great granddaughter, Myla. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her husband, William L. Peters (January 27, 2021); parents, Perry (Frona) Jennings and her four sisters, Laveda (John) Wright, Phyllis (Carl) Moore, Neva (Lester) Wine, and Orpha Pauline (Robert) Wine. Shirley was born in Indiana to Perry and Frona Jennings. She was lifelong member of the Nazarene church until the day she took her last breath. Shirley was a wonderful wife and mother. Shirley married the love of her life, William on June 20, 1965. She loved doing her word puzzles, shopping with her daughter, Regina and making sweets for her family. You could find her and her husband, Bill, cutting grass at the church on Saturday mornings. She will be missed terribly by her family and friends. Funeral services for Shirley will be held at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL 60431 on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 2:00 PM.
