Obituary

Steven B. Jowers, age 57, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019, with his wife by his side. Survived by his beloved wife of 13 years, Janice Jowers; his son, Kyle Jowers; his step-son, Brad (Melanie) Andrulewicz; his daughter, Stacey (Jack) Gordon; his two grandchildren, Peyton and Jack Gordon; his parents, James and Gail Jowers; his aunt, Lynn Barnes; his sister, Erica (Dan) Cramer; his sisters-in-law, Karen (Bill MacLeod) Rodd and Brenda (John) Callahan; his brother-in-law, Glenn (Karen) Rodd; and his faithful companions, Mosby, Poppy, Teddy and Frank. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by a brother in infancy, Jamie Jowers. Steve enjoyed Marvel comic characters, Cub games with his dad, rock and jazz music, and Chevy Camaros. Each passion lasted a lifetime and brought collections of comic books, shelves of music, a World Series win, and a career of crafting furniture into his world. But his greatest passions came when Steve found the people he loved. He adored his wife, his children, and his grandchildren, and he wanted to spend every minute with them. His friends knew they were in special company, and they cherished his generosity, his support, his love, and his wry humor — often at his own expense. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL.
