Twila L. Shafer Passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home surrounded by her family. Survived by her daughters Barbara (Eric P.) Shafer and Amanda (Nick S.) Shafer; grandchildren Serina and Rylan Prebe and Ayden Comer; two sisters Sandra (Kenneth) Comer; Catherine Simpson; nephews Joshua (Robin) Comer and Danny Newcomb; niece Kirsten Barnett. Also survived by numerous cousins and friends. Preceded in death by her parents Hale and Barbara (nee Winemiller) Barnett; son Bradley (in infancy) Shafer and her brother Hale Jr. 'Rocky' Barnett. Retired from the Will County Health Department in 2014. Twila also worked for Sam''s Club in Joliet (2015) and JCPenney (2012). Member of the First Presbyterian Church of Joliet. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Treatment Center of America 2520 Elisha Avenue Zion, Illinois 60099. Visitation will be on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. A Chapel Service will also be held on Friday beginning at 7:00 PM. Per Twila''s request cremation rites will be accorded.
