Vonna Kay Nelson, longtime resident of Joliet, Illinois, born in Gary, Indiana, passed away on February 10, 2024, at the age of 70.

Preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lillian Tilley, brothers Ray (Cheri) Tilley and Jimmy (Debbie) Tilley, sister, Marilyn Spears.

Survived by two sisters, Jackie (George) Harvey, Donna (the late Dave) Worrall, and brother Johnny (Sherrie) Guthrie. The loving mother of Leoria (Peter), Gloria, Natalie, and David. Loving grandmother, also known as Candy Grandma, of Trevor, Kyle, Edward, Jessica, Alexis, Natalie, Hannah, Hailey, and Madeline. Great grandmother of Trinity.

Vonna will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Vonna lived a fulfilled life surrounded by her friends and family. She loved a party, especially if it was for her. She could make anyone laugh and had a good heart. Vonna loved her kids and grandchildren.

Per Vonna's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. In honor of Vonna's memory, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
