Obituary

Vytas Banevicius Age 57, Passed away Sunday March 26, 2017 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer with loving family by his side. Vytas leaves behind his wife Marie of (37 years), his daughters Samantha B. Jameson (husband Samuel) and Ashley Banevicius. Vytas has two granddaughters by Samantha, Lilly age 11 and Dalia age 8, a sister Audra (Kevin) Durbon, and a brother Edward (Tina) Banevicius. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. In most of our lifetime we are acquainted with very few people that are known by one name only; Vytas, he was one of those people. His charisma to get the freight moved and make the customer happy was one that most of us will never forget. Vytas had a 'can do' attitude that created a culture in the Chicago terminal that most of our customers were used to. If freight needed to be moved last minute we heard many times, call Vytas, he will find a way. His care for his employees was also something that he was known for. He would do what he could to make sure his employees were taken care of, even if it meant doing it himself so that employee could make it to a family event, doctor appointment or whatever the case was. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday April 1st 2017 (10 AM - 2:30 PM) at Woodlawn Funeral Home to pay respects to Vytas and a service at 2:30 for him. In lieu of flowers a fund has been established in Vytas'' name that is intended for his two granddaughter''s college education. Chase Bank -Marie Banevicius (checks only) reference account number 3601179998.
