Wayne A. Johnson, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

Survived by his children, Tabatha (Connor) Hartigan, Kelly Johnson, CPL. Jonathan (fiancée, Alyssa Theobald) Johnson USMC, and Katie (fiancé, Michael Buggert) Johnson; grandchildren, Blakely, Deacon, Duke, Addison, Aubree, Alek, and Oliver; brothers, Robert (Connie) Heitzman, Bruce (Lenora) Johnson, and Bryan (Mary) Johnson; aunts, Joan Segerberg, and Marilyn (Chip) Huckins. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends also survive.

Preceded in death by his parents, Marvin (Lois) Johnson, and his uncle, John Segerberg.

If you knew Wayne then you'd know you could always find him sitting out back enjoying the sunshine with a cold Budweiser, fishing, camping, watching an old Western, or spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. When he wasn't busy doing those things, he would be spending his time helping others, never letting anyone be in need. He truly spent his life living it to the fullest and enjoying retirement since 2015 after a lifetime career at ComEd. Wayne graduated from Joliet Central Township, class of 1977. He spent his childhood years with his brothers creating many memories on family vacations and running the neighborhood. He was truly one of a kind, loved with all of his heart and will be dearly missed by who knew him. As Wayne would have said, "take 'er easy there, pilgrim".

Visitation for Wayne will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, IL. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 19, 2024, at Elwood Community Church, 101 N. Chicago Street, Elwood, IL 60421 at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park II (Hills of Rest). In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated
