William Ernest Bailey Jr., age 67, of Wilmington, IL passed away at home on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. Survived by his life partner, Cindi Mills; his children, Josh (Sydney) Bailey, Jenny Mills (Jake) and Jeremy (Tori) Bailey; his five grandchildren, Jaylee, Lilly, Jayden, Braxton, and Ryan; his brother, Richard (Nancy) Bailey. Preceded in death by his father William "Ernie" Bailey Sr. (December 27, 2021) and his mother, Gloria Wright. Bill was born in Champaign, IL on August 29, 1955, and he was raised in Joliet. He served on the Wilmington ESDA for 10 years, running the K9 and drone teams. Bill was a school crossing guard and he also worked for the Wilmington Post Office and the Free Press newspaper. He served in the United States Navy and retired from IBEW Local #701. Per Bill's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
