William "Bill" Edward Ellenbecker, age 64, of Joliet, IL lost his battle to cancer on Sunday, November 8, 2020, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Survived by his wife, Angela Ellenbecker (nee Karl); his children, Joseph (Amanda) Ellenbecker, Nicole (Ben) Jari, Charles Ellenbecker and Karlee Ellenbecker; his stepson, Justin Baylis; grandchildren, Lily Behnke, Addison Ellenbecker and Mya Ellenbecker; his sisters, Donna (Roy) Ferg and Judy (Jerry) Mulroy. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lavern (nee Sanderfoot) Ellenbecker; his brother Michael Ellenbecker and his sister Deborah Ellenbecker. Bill was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on March 9, 1956. He had a passion for racing and restoring vintage snowmobiles. Every winter Bill made a trip with his family and friends to either Wisconsin or Michigan to trail ride. In the warmer months, Bill enjoyed wind therapy on his Harley. He was a diehard NASCAR and Green Packers fan. Bill worked on a dairy farm in his younger years and later retired from the Chicago carpenters Local 1889 in 2011. He always took pride in his work and providing for his family. Bill was a loving father and grandpa. He always loved teaching a new life lesson and lending a helping hand. Bill was very loved and will be deeply missed by many. Per Bill's wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
