Bill was a proud graduate of Joliet Central High School, where he was known for his quick wit and friendly demeanor. After completing his education, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a barber in Rockdale, where his chair became a local hub of camaraderie and storytelling. His warm personality and skilled hands made him a favorite in the neighborhood, and the friendships he fostered there lasted a lifetime. In addition to his work as a barber, Bill also took part in the community through his involvement with ComEd, where his contributions were greatly valued. Beyond his professional life, Bill had a rich array of interests that kept his mind sharp and his heart content. He was an avid card player, delighting in the challenge of a good game with friends. Crossword puzzles were a daily ritual for him, a testament to his love for words and his unending pursuit of knowledge. His artistic side shone through in his drawings, capturing the beauty of everyday life with his pencil and paper. Reading was another passion for Bill, one that allowed him to explore worlds beyond his own and share the stories he loved with those around him.
Those who knew Bill would describe him as loving, wise, and friendly words that only begin to scratch the surface of his remarkable character. His advice was sought after by many, as he possessed an uncanny ability to listen deeply and offer counsel that was both insightful and kind. The warmth of his smile and the sincerity of his laughter were gifts that he shared generously, leaving a legacy of fond memories in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Bill's life was a tapestry of meaningful relationships and simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed by his community, and his memory will be cherished as a beacon of love and friendship. As we say goodbye to William T. Lawler Jr., we celebrate a life well-lived and honor the indelible mark he has left on the world.
Per Bill's wishes, cremations rites have been accorded.
